Blog #13 My PSA topic.
The message I'm trying to convey is reef bleaching awareness. That when reefs start to die from other chemicals such as a oil or gas from boats as well as the depleting OZONE layer causes the reefs to bleach. In turn, the fish die off rather quickly or they move to a different reef. There are many reefs that are very healthy but for how long will they be healthy? Throughout my message I will show what happens when reefs begin to be bleached and what happens to the fish that inhabit the reef.

This is about how our coral reefs are depleting at an accelerated rate.

Save Our Fish project pre-test
- What might contemporary data on fish populations tell us about the health of our marine ecology?
- What role does the media play in helping shape public attitudes about an issue related to the health of the environment?
- How can computer animation be used to affect public opinion and practices related to a particular issue such as environmental sustainability?
- How might a computer animation differ in terms of its impact compared to other media such as live film, print graphics, and audion announcements on radio or through podcasts?
1. Well if our data is accurate then it will tell us that the health of the marine ecology is bad right now.
2. The media can help get the people going on stopping the depletion of our fish and let the fish become well over populated so that it won't hurt the marine ecology.
3.It can be used to influence public opinion about evironmental sustainability.
4. It would have to be broadcasted over a huge audience to have the same effect as the media. But you could make your computer animation available as all forms of media.
My scratch game
My point of my educational product was to talk about being friends with everyone and getting along. And how to not bully others.

Idea for Scratch.
My idea is to create a flash of some sort about safety while skateboarding or longboarding. I will show how to properly fit helmets, protective gear, and show what happens when you use it correctly/incorrectly. I will probably have myself as a sprite within the project talking or using text, and have some other pictures of skaters going down hills.

My Sratch pong game
The biggest challenge for me today was actually making the sprites move in the direction that I wanted them to go. It gets really hard dealing with lots of scripts.

The core elemetnts of Da Hood.
Space: The feel is very tense and fun. The night time is dangerous while the day time isn't. Levels get harder as the day turns to night.
Components: Avatar that can run and jump and shoot. The enemies are runners, shooters, and other obstacles
Mechanics: Jumping and walking will be the mechanics.
Goals: Do not die. Live throughout the day.
Rules: Do not die. Collect all points by the end of the levels.

This is level one. The level is fairly long with lots of enemies. Although in the picture you can't tell there is but the level is over loaded with jumpers and runners.
In this level all jumpers are way stronger than others. The night is more dangerous and you have less time and you have to collect more coins.
This level is the final level. As a reward for survivng, I give the avatar a lot of points.

Game Design Challenge
HOME! Create a game about your neighborhood. Spaces in the real world can be great inspiration for game.
Name of game: Da hood.

The core elements of my first game...
Space: The space of my game was a very tense space and the setting was great. Very gritty looking. The design was simple none the less. Many runners, lots of health, and lots of speed. The space made you feel like it was impossible to beat.
Components: I used a bunch of different color blocks, but they weren't blocks they were just blocks for looks and to avoid enemies. I used about 50 enemies, 50 coins that you had to collect and the avatar had speed up to 10, which is very fast.
Mechanics: The actions were collecting and adversion of the enemies. It was basically just moving as fast as possible to collect all the coins in the aloted time.
Goals: Survive is the goal. You must collect all the 50 coins without getting killed within 12 seconds. Simple at best, the game is not very hard to beat.
Rules: Move as fast as possible, there are no ground rules. You just have to get all the coins faster than 12 seconds. Not dying could be a rule, given that dying or running out of time is the only way to lose.

How my favorite game is balanced
Max's game was very balanced. The rules were very explained, you had lives and time to beat the game. Which made it very difficult. The goals were very simple, collect all dots in the aloted time. The mechanics were walking and collecting. The components were good. Many blocks and obstacles to avoid, there were large amounts of fast moving enemies and the avatar had many lives and could run equally as fast. The space good. Very stressful, made me tense to beat the level. It was difficult and yet it was fun to actually beat it when it seemed impossible.

About a favorite game of mine...
The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion
This game is an RPG game that has you go on quests to protect the city of Tamriel or destroy it. You pick your path and everything you do within the game has an effect on something else within the game. You can join clans full of fighters, mages, thieves and even assassins.
Well to play it’s very simple. You just need an xbox 360, a playstation 3, or a PC. Then within the game they teach you the basics and then you can further look into controls in the menu or pamphlet that come with the game. Not a very hard game to learn how to play.
There really is no winning. You can beat the main quest which will be somewhat like beating the game. But in this game you can never do every single quest because they constantly regenerate. It’s never ending so you can play it forever.
The rules…well there is no rules. You can do basically whatever you want in the game. It’s an RPG, you play a role in the game, which ever it is, good or evil, there are no rules.
The game pieces go from stunning weapons and armor to amazing houses and towns. The game pieces are scattered everywhere and finding them all is very, very, very hard and almost no one has done it. You can also create your own pieces within the game.

Games are systems
When you chaneg an element within a game it affects everything that goes on. It can either make the game a lot harder or a lot easier. When I added damage blocks to my game it gave me less places to hide. When I added more enemies it ade it a lot harder to navigate the field. And when I made it so you only had a few lives it made the level even harder due to the low amount of lives which means you have to be extra careful wen going through the game. It was a fun experience, even though it is a very simple tool to use, it still was very interesting to see what happens when you add a huge amount of different elements to one level.

Game Design
1. Kingdom Hearts Series: This whole game series was really compelling cause it was a very challenging game and it had a terrific story line. A very fun game that I still love to play today.
2. Super Smash Brothers 64: This game was very fun. It was basically an arena game that was very fun when you played with 3 other people. It had a bunch of characters that were recognizable from other games.
3. Midnight Club 3: This was a racing game that was a every long story line that kept developing and developing. You got to drive thousands of different cars and even motorcyles.
4. Dynasty Warriors Series: The game was based in the war times in China in the early years of man. The game was very fast paced, but also very challenging which is what kept me going.
5. Halo 1: The game had a great story line and was one of the first real FPS games and I enjoyed playing it with my friends. Very points based game that took a lot of skill.
6. James Bond 007: The game was all arena based. A sandbox game as some would call it today. There was no story line it was strictly playing with your friends.
7. Guitar Hero 1: This game was about using a fake guitar that had 5 buttons on it that allowed you to actually play the notes that were coming at you. Very skill based and had a lot of good music to play.
8. Devil Kings: The game was very similar to dynasty warriors. Same basic engine and fundamentals. But what I liked most is that each time you played the same level, things would be different. It was a very good game and I would love to play it again.
9. Super Mario Bros 64: This game was like the blown up, 3D version of the Mario Bros Games. Thats what made it so awesome. The game was also very long and challenging which is what kept me going.
10. Grand Theft Auto Series: I played these as a older child and these games were absolutely so much fun. The best part was using all the cheats so your character would be practically invisible and you could just cause terror around the whole city.
